Reviews and Ratings for Financial adviser Scott Gallacher, Leicester

I joined Rowley Turton as a trainee in 1997 having previously worked at the Alliance and Leicester as an Accounts Clerk.

From my first interview with Alan Turton in 1997, I knew I wanted to be a financial adviser. Luckily, that interview went well and Alan hired me.

More than 20 years later, after a lot of hard work and study, I am now a Chartered Financial Planner and a Director looking forward to the next 20 years.

Scott's role at Rowley Turton

Financial Planning is fundamentally about helping and caring for people throughout their life.

I look after a wide range of people but normally these people are:

  • Planning for retirement, or
  • Already enjoying retirement, or
  • Recently bereaved.

My day is spent problem-solving, analysing your personal and financial situation to come up with the best way to achieve your goals, and speaking to people – getting to know and understand you, and explaining how to achieve your goals.

Keeping you safe

In the UK, nearly all financial service activities must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. In an age where financial scams pose a real threat, it’s important to make sure you do not take financial advice from any firm not registered with the FCA, or from any adviser who does not hold a valid Statement of Professional Standing.

Scott in the spotlight

Outside of work…

You’ll find me watching Leicester City Football Club with my two sons. Or plucking away at the guitar.

My favourite place to holiday is…

I would love a cottage in the Peak District. Just so relaxing and away from everything yet, from Leicester, it’s almost on our doorstep.

One skill I’d like to master is…

To play the guitar as well as my dad, or even my youngest.

My favourite saying is…

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

It’s a reminder that we can’t simply ignore things and we all need to do our bit to make the world a better place.

You might not know that…

Jimmy Carr was once sitting in my train seat with Rachel Riley (who I didn’t recognise until afterwards!). I asked him to move until I saw there were other seats available.

I’ve also met Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and several other Leicester City players.

"Rowley Turton have provided decades of excellent trustworthy advice, first to my father, then to me and now to my children. I have recommended them to others in the past and would unhesitatingly do so again in the future."
